Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do I have to do to become a member of the Philadelphia Coalition?
A: Currently, membership in the Philadelphia Coalition is limited to the eleven Comprehensive Community Mental Health/Mental Retardation Centers that serve Philadelphia. If you are not one of these eleven centers, there is another provider association, the Philadelphia Alliance of Specialized Agencies, that would be happy to talk with you about membership. Contact Tim Wilson at 215-877-6400.
Q: Can the Philadelphia Coalition help me if I am having problems obtaining behavioral health or intellectual/development disabilities services for myself of my family?
A: Yes, we will be happy to help you to the extent that we can. All of our agencies' contact phone numbers are available on this web site, as is information about the County of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Mental Retardation Services and a number of community advocacy organizations. You are also welcome to contact the Philadelphia Coalition office at 215-238-6092 and we will try to assist you with information specific to your need, referrals to other services, etc.
Q: Where is the best place to park if I want to come to the Coalition office for a meeting?
A: The Coalition office is in the middle of the block on Chestnut Street between 12th and 13th Streets. If you are coming into Center City from the North and taking 12th Street (which is one-way going South), there are two lots on 12th Street just below Chestnut at Sansom Street. The 12th & Walnut Garage is entered from 12th street at Sansom and is self-parking. Across the street is a lot that provides valet parking.
